Several of Thermo Riko’s infrared guide heating systems can be used in combination with different analysis systems. The example in the photo shows GVL298 connected to an XPS system. This setup heats the sample with infrared irradiation, purifying it by releasing moisture and foreign objects from the sample surface. A transfer rod moves the sample in an ultra-high vacuum to the XPS analysis chamber (shown on the right side of the photo). The sample is then irradiated with X-rays and surface analysis is performed.
